Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is an Edge and Life Night?
Edge and Life Nights are creative nights that bring our Catholic faith to life, breaking open relevant issues for preteens and teens. They’re able to share and experience what it is to be a Catholic teen today. These catechetical nights are presented in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church and provide a comprehensive scope of topics. Our Edge Nights take place on Mondays and Life Nights follow a Sunday evening Mass at 5:00pm.
  2. Can only teens come to the Mass on Sunday’s?
Of course not! It is a desire of this ministry to unite the family. We have found that Edge and Life Teen unites generations, enlivening the Spirit of the entire community.
  3. Is Edge and Life Teen also a Confirmation program?
Life Teen has developed a Confirmation program, Oneight (pronounced 1-8).  Teens begin the journey to Confirmation by attending 1 year of Edge (usually in the 8th grade) and 1 year of Life Teen (usually in the 9th grade).  Teens in grades 10-12 that would like to be confirmed may do Edge and Life Teen together in one year.
  4. Who volunteers in the Edge & Life Teen ministry?
Anyone who wants to lead teens closer to Christ and is willing to participate in diocesan safe environment training is someone who can volunteer with our Edge and/or Life Teen ministry. The “Core Team” is the main group of volunteers who assist a youth minister with Edge and Life Teen. The entire community helps support the Life Teen ministry, including parents, college students, grandparents, Confirmation sponsors and other adults.
